Glen has 40 years of diverse hands-on experience in running businesses in industries such as, Accounting & Tax, Non-profits, Oil Field Services, Ski Resorts and Mental Health Treatment.  As a C level executive, this broad knowledge base is valuable while working with clients to carefully guide them in establishing and organizing correct business accounting and reporting models to suit their type of business.  

As a Registered Representative with Avantax Investment Services℠, Glen is also equipped to help your business with retirement plans, investments and and help protect you with life insurance.

As an active member of the community, Glen is Past President and Board Member of the Provo Rotary Club, Past President and Board member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs and served as President and Governing Board Member of a local non-profit.  

Glen and his business partner Jared, acquired MainStreet Tax & Accounting in 2019.

A longtime resident of Utah, Glen lives in Lehi, Utah with his wife and enjoys activities with his 13 grandchildren and is an avid racquetball player.

Glen has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration Degree, a Series 6 and Series 63 Securities License and Utah Insurance Producer License.

Jared Thornock MBA

Partner & V.P. of Client Services

In 2008, Jared joined MainStreet Tax and Accounting as a Staff Tax Accountant, where his dedication to helping clients optimize their tax strategies and business management quickly became apparent. He developed into the company's "go-to" expert for business and personal taxes, consistently finding innovative solutions to complex tax challenges. His commitment to client success led him to pursue and attain a Master of Business Administration from Utah State University. In 2019, Jared and his business partner, Glen Zaugg, acquired MainStreet, where he now serves as Vice President, continuing to provide personalized service and expert guidance to businesses and individuals.

Outside of work, Jared enjoys golfing, watching and participating in baseball, and coaching his sons' baseball teams.

 

Keith Larsen

Tax & Accounting Professional

Keith is one of our resident experts in taxes and accounting and has more than 23 years of experience in the financial arena. Keith attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1989.

Keith used his Accounting degree while serving as Vice President of Overhead Construction for the telecommunication construction company, X-L Cable Corporation Inc. in Seattle, WA for many years. In 1996, Keith moved back to Vernal to work with his father, Lawrence B. Larsen, in his CPA practice while continuing to work for X-L Cable as the Controller until 2011. In 2005, Keith partnered with his brother David and his father to form MainStreet Financial Services, which eventually became MainStreet Tax & Accounting.

In addition to working as a tax and accounting professional for over 23 years, Keith has also partnered in multiple business ventures, including Workforce Solutions LLC, Prestige Energy Solutions LLC, and LLB Investments LLC. This has given him unique opportunities to further enhance his skillset and his understanding of business management. Keith also coached hockey from 1997–2017 in youth leagues, high school teams, travel teams, and tournament teams. And once you’ve coached a roomful of crazy teenagers with skates on, managing numbers is a breeze.

When Keith isn’t working hard at the office, you can find him playing hard with his family and friends. Keith loves spending time with his wife, Sheri, and their four children. They enjoy being in the outdoors and, on any given weekend, you can find them cruising around a lake on their boat and wake surfing. When Keith isn’t on the boat, he wants to be camping, hunting, fishing, or traveling to see the world. But his main joy in life is being a husband, dad, and grandpa. Anything is better with family.

As a tax and accounting professional with MainStreet Tax & Accounting, Keith takes pride in serving our clients. Their financial growth and stability are his top priority, and he takes time to educate and communicate with each of his clients. Communication is essential to an effective working relationship and Keith works directly with our clients to address their specific needs to ensure success for everyone.  Since the company's successful sale in 2019, Keith has continued to contribute his expertise and serve clients as an independent contractor for MainStreet.

David Larsen

Tax & Accounting Professional

Son of MainStreet founder Lawrence B. Larsen, David joined forces with his father in 2005, bringing his own impressive track record in entrepreneurship and finance to the company. David's years of international tax and accounting experience, honed through owning and operating manufacturing businesses in Guatemala and Mexico, provide him with a deep understanding of complexities of both business and personal taxation.  Since the company's successful sale in 2019, David has continued to contribute his expertise as an independent contractor for MainStreet.

Shawna Petersen CPPM

Payroll Specialist

With over 10 years of experience, Shawna can handle all our client’s needs in Human Resources, Payroll, and Payroll Law.

As our resident Specialist, Shawna has a vast knowledge of standard payroll practices, procedures, systems and terminology. With Shawna at the helm, we can do payroll for organizations of all sizes and specialties and in multiple states.

In her spare time, Shawna likes camping, fishing, and hunting with her family and can’t get enough of her grand-babies.

Grace Ericksen

Executive Secretary

As the Orem office Executive Secretary, Grace strives to make each interaction and experience enjoyable, professional and as stress free as possible and looks forward to connecting with others through her job each day. She maintains order in the office by ensuring tax return files are organized, keeping clients informed. Other duties include scheduling appointments, answering and routing calls and emails. 

Kara Dockter

Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper

Kara is in the Vernal office and is your first contact when you call.  She has a positive personality and cares deeply about people.  As a Certified Office Technician, she assists our Vernal tax preparers by ensuring records are organized and keeps clients informed.  Kara also does client bookkeeping and assists our Payroll Specialist.

In her spare time, Kara enjoys camping, cooking and spending time with her kids.
